I was happy to find a supply of the .45 Colt cartridge cases made by Winchester and see that they are now on backorder, so really lucky to find them when I did. The new cartridge cases arrived in the original sealed bags and were very nice to begin loading, but I did encounter two cases that had problems in the two bags of 100 each that I received. One cartridge case has a thicker rim than normal and would not quite fit into my .45 Colt case holder in the press and I ended up having to use a .44-40 case holder to size and prime it and have not yet tried to finish loading it. The other issue was a cartridge case having a seemingly double punched flash hole in the bottom of the primer cavity that could be a problem with proper primer seating, but I carefully oriented a Federal LP primer in it and that should work OK. I am very happy with the other 198 cartridge cases that were received in nice condition and feel lucky to find them in the current shortage of ammunition and components of all kinds. It does not seem that these Winchester cartridge cases have been subjected to quite the level of quality control that I have been accustomed to, but that is no fault of the retail suppliers. LG-Outdoors was very quick shipping and seems a good source for things that are in stock.
