PROVEN PERFORMANCE. Get maximum stopping power when you need it most - with Aguila’s 38 SPL +P 125 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point. This high-pressure round sends a 125-grain projectile at an incredible 1220 feet per second to ensure that your target is quickly and reliably incapacitated.
Aguila Handgun Ammunition in .38 Spl (+P) with 125 grain Jacketed Hollow Point (JHP) bullets is designed for self-defense and personal protection. Here are some key details about this ammunition:
Caliber: .38 Spl (+P) - This ammunition is designed for firearms chambered in .38 Special, and it is labeled as "+P," which stands for "overpressure." +P ammunition is loaded to higher pressures than standard .38 Special ammunition, providing increased velocity and energy.
Bullet Type: Jacketed Hollow Point (JHP) - JHP bullets are designed to expand upon impact, creating larger wound channels and potentially stopping a threat more effectively. They are commonly used in self-defense ammunition.
Bullet Weight: 125 grains - The bullet weight influences factors like recoil, trajectory, and energy transfer upon impact.
Muzzle Velocity: 1200 feet per second (fps) - The muzzle velocity indicates the speed at which the bullet exits the barrel of the firearm. Higher velocity can affect factors like accuracy and terminal ballistics.
Packaging: This ammunition is typically packaged in boxes containing 50 rounds each.
Aguila .38 Spl (+P) 125gr JHP ammunition is designed for self-defense use, and the +P designation indicates that it offers increased performance compared to standard .38 Special ammunition. The JHP bullets are intended to expand upon impact, making them effective for personal protection.

The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
The 38 Special (38 S&W Special, 38 Colt Special) was introduced in 1902. It is essentially a slightly extended 38 Long Colt case, length 1.1551 inches, with operating pressure increased from 13,000 to 17,000 psi. Bullet diameter is .357-inch. The 38 Special became the gold standard personal defense revolver cartridge and was standard among most American law enforcement agencies for many years. Bullet weights vary from 110 to 158 grains, with a 158-grain bullet at 800 feet per second the most common. In the 1960s pressure was increased again to 18,500 psi, creating the 38 Special +P load, with increased velocity and energy. 38 Long and Short Colt ammunition can be fired in any 38 Special chamber, but not the reverse. 38 Special +P is safe in modern steel-frame 38 Special revolvers, but should not be used in aluminum-frame 38 Special revolvers. 38 Special remains a standard and popular revolver chambering. —
