Pedersoli 1859 Sharps Berdan .54 Caliber Percusion Rifle 30" Barrel
First used by the First Connecticut Volunteers from Hartford, CT. Associated with the First United States (Berdan's) Sharpshooters. A total of 6,689 made with 2,000 issued to the Sharpshooters; 2,780 to the U.S. Navy and the balance to various other army units. This reproduction features American walnut buttstock and forearm with satin finish, 3" drop and 13 7/8" trigger pull. The 54 caliber blued barrel is 30" long, tapered round 1.250" at breech to .825" at muzzle, cut rifling .010" deep, 1-48" twist, 7 lands measure .520" and 7 grooves measure .540". Front sight is steel stud base and silver blade, rear sight is steel flip-up with elevator to 800 yards. Steel furniture, color casehardened. Single trigger (double set trigger assembly #YP0906 sold seperately). Three barrel bands, sling swivels. Percussion with 5/16x24 nipple uses musket caps. Load with 60 grains FFFg black powder and .544 conical bullet. Overall length is 47 1/4" and total weight is 9 1/4 lbs. N/SSA approved. Made by Pedersoli, Italy.
