October is National Hunting and Fishing Month
The Secretary of the Department of the Interior has declared that the month of October will officially be recognized as National Hunting and Fishing Month. During his tenure, Secretary Zinke has opened up an additional 600 acres in Arizona to hunting and fishing; he’s also put forth several proposals that would increase hunting and fishing access to public lands.

George Montgomery/NRA Youth Wildlife Art Contest is Accepting Entries
The NRA’s annual youth art contest is accepting entries until October 31. Artists in grades 1 through 12 may submit one entry each that depicts game birds or animals that may be legally hunted or trapped in North America. Hunters Needed to Thin Grand Canyon Bison Herd
The National Park Service is looking for hunters who can help thin out a herd of bison in the Grand Canyon.
